Delay Update

Jan and Paul received a call from the guide at 10:30. They were expecting/hoping that Maelyn would arrive at the hotel between 10 and 11pm but the guide said that it would be midnight, at the earliest. After some discussions and calling back at 11:15, the nannies and guide decided it would be best to stay at a hotel with Maelyn tonight and then meet Jan and Paul really early in the morning.

By the time they got that call, they were drained - toast, in Jan's words. They will now be going to meet Maelyn in the lobby of the hotel at 8am Monday morning (Sunday night here). And then they have to leave by 8:30 for the paperwork -- yikes!

Jan and Paul headed to bed to try
and get some much needed sleep.

We wish them love!

As I'm reading your blog it's 8:42 pm here in Canada. I pray that things have worked out and you've met Maelyn and are on your way to completing your paperwork. I pray for peace and rest as you continue your journey as a family. Can't wait to meet your little girl.

When we were driving back from Sarnia at 810 pm our time -- 800am your time -- I was listening to a Woodstock station I don't normally listen to and Martina McBride's song "In My Daughter's Eyes" came on -- needless to say I was a wreck trying to negotiate the 401 traffic through my tears -- all I could think about and pray about was that Maelynn was with both of you at that moment...

going to bed now at 11 20 pm wondering how your morning is going.

Happy first Day of Summer -- that's a nice Forever Family Day to have every year -- the longest day of the year -- another family tradition for you -- I let Julia stay up on that day until the sun sets even if it is a school night.

Hope that by now you finally have your daughter :) We were in Nanchang 2 years ago meeting our daughter ( also with CB waiting child) so following your blog has brought back memories - both good and bad! The first three days are the worst......

Good luck and enjoy :)

Hi There;

I was so moved reading your blog today. I can't stop crying imagining your joy and the pure pleasure of holding your beautiful daughter and delighting in the simple pleasures of watermelon and kisses. What a beautiful story you have to tell you daughter about beginning your lives together.

Our family is so happy for you and wish you well as you move forward with peace and gentleness while Maelyn gets used to her new loving home.

Sarah and Charlotte are so thrilled too and just can't wait to meet Maelyn. When you're ready, they are hoping to help you in whatever way they can.

Love

Joanne
